Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
