Series of Incidents
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military commanders have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This most recent event comes after other serious incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was detonated remotely.
While a source from Ukraine in the past attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.
The war has increasingly seen covert operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.
